Surgical Diseases of the Liver

October 25, 2021 / By Nihat.Gulaydin-2021 / Posted in General Surgery

Cystic diseases and tumors of the liver are the diseases that most commonly require surgery. "Hydatid cyst disease", popularly known as canine cyst of the liver, is common in our country and its treatment varies depending on its size and location in the liver. While suitable cases can be treated with radiological interventional methods, surgical treatment is required for large cysts.

In addition to surgical treatment, long-term antibiotic (Andazole TB) treatment is given to patients. Surgery is performed for simple cysts of the liver and for large cysts. Cancers originating from the liver are rare, and tumor resection, removal of liver lobes, or liver transplantation are performed in suitable patients.
